  • In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until golden brown and fragrant, for about 5-7 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and all-purpose flour. Pour in the warm brown butter and stir until combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  • Fold in the toasted pecans, then spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are set but center is slightly soft.
  • Allow the squares to cool completely in the dish on a wire rack before slicing them into squares.
