  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter and cocoa powder in short bursts until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Stir the granulated and brown sugars into the melted chocolate mixture, then beat in the eggs one at a time, along with the vanilla extract.
  • Gently fold the dry flour mixture into the chocolate batter.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth, then mix in matcha powder and milk.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the greased pan, dollop the matcha cheesecake mixture on top, and add the remaining brownie batter.
  • Swirl the mixtures together just enough to create patterns.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
