Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Fresh Mushrooms Cremini or button
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth Low-sodium
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Can substitute with half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup Marsala Wine Dry quality
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For sautéing
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme

For Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Optional for thickening

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking until softened and aromatic, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Season boneless, skinless chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  • Place the seasoned chicken in your crock pot. Top with the sautéed mushroom and garlic mixture.
  • Pour in chicken broth and Marsala wine over the chicken. Stir gently to combine.
  • Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 4 hours. Stir in heavy cream just 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving for a pop of color. Pair with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
