Instructions

Cookie Preparation

  • Cream softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy—about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add in your room temperature eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Gradually sift and incorporate the all-purpose flour and baking powder into the mixture.
  • Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thick.
  • Use cookie cutters to cut out festive tree shapes and place them on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden around the edges, keeping centers soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool completely before icing and decorating.
